Like Father, Like Son

I walked into our bedroom earlier to find Justin and Tanner taking a nap. It was soooo cute that I had to snap a picture.

10 lbs. 13 oz. of Sweetness

I intended to post just after Tanner's 2 month well visit which was two Fridays ago but all the spare time that I had before Tanner arrived has some how disappeared!! He's now moved from the 25th to the 30th percentile with a weight of 10 lbs. 13 oz. and length of 22 1/8".

Tanner unfortunately spits up quite frequently but the worst part is the pain he seems to be in just after feeding. These symptoms are typically diagnosed as acid reflux. Tanner's pediatrician decided to put him on the reflux medication Axid back before Christmas. Since this prescription didn't seem to be working, the doctor changed him to Prevacid, another reflux medication, at his check-up in hopes that he would react better to the medicine. He does seem to be a little less fussy, but I was thinking the medicine would completely do away with the symptoms...guess it was just wishful thinking!!

Each day he continues to make new cooing sounds. He has most recently learned to make gurgling type sounds which he is extremely fascinated with. Justin and I constantly find ourselves communicating in baby talk because it almost always draws a smile to Tanner's face.

Last weekend we purchased a Bumbo seat for Tanner since he has such good head control.

Today we decided to put him in the Bumbo seat to see how he handled it. He did really well, and we have pictures to prove it!!

We had Tanner's professional photos taken in Bowling Green over the holidays. My first cousins have a good friend who has a very reasonable sitting fee and then gives you a CD of all the photos so you that you can print whatever you want!! I've posted below our most favorite photos.

ALREADY EIGHT WEEKS OLD!!

Little Tanner is eight weeks old today!! We never thought that time could fly by like this. It makes me really sad because I know it's just that closer to my return to work date which is 2/2. Dropping him off at daycare the first day is going to be rough on Justin and I both. I've already decided not to wear mascara that day!! Enough about us...

Tanner has had a much better day today than in the past couple of weeks. We're hoping that maybe it was just a growing spurt that he was going through. We'll let you know tomorrow!! Since arriving back from the holidays, Tanner has graduated to sleeping in his own crib. He's also sleeping pretty well through the nights. Last night he went down around 10:00 PM and didn't wake until 4 AM. He could have slept longer but his movement sensor went off because he's such a squirmy little fellow and had moved out of the sensor area. So, I had to place him back in the middle of the bed...which of course woke him up..oh well...I was ready to hold him anyway.

He stays awake more now during the day but really likes to take naps in the evening which is when he really needs to stay awake so that he'll sleep better at night. A few minutes ago we placed him in his swing, and I noticed he was starting to nap. Thinking that he really wasn't going to hear me I said "Tanner are you going to sleep?" That little stinker opened one eye and did a half smile back at me!! I'm going to get him!!
